Scope
Outsourcing – Involves sharing business functions with a business partner, which involves two-way information exchange, coordination, and trust between the partners.
Product Development Outsourcing – The complete process of bringing a new medical device to market. There are two parallel paths: one involves the idea generation, product design, and detail engineering; the other involves market research and marketing analysis. Companies typically see new product development as the first stage in generating and commercializing new products.
Manufacturing Outsourcing – The application of tools and processing equipment to the transformation of materials into medical devices for sale. This effort includes all intermediate processes required for the production and integration of a medical device’s components.
